Frontline Combo is a more advanced and far-reaching form of flea killer than Frontline Spot On. These flea drops use two active ingredients; fipronil which destroys adult fleas, lice and ticks, and methoprene to destroy flea eggs and flea larvae before they become biting adults.
Using Frontline Combo
Frontline Combo is a topical flea treatment. To use, simply part your pet's fur and apply the oily liquid directly to the skin. Once applied the skin's own oil gland system will distribute the active ingredients to cover the entire body of your pet.
Your pet should not be handled for thirty minutes or so, after using Frontline Combo, to prevent the flea drops being rubbed off. It is a good idea to keep your pet in during this time and stop them licking the liquid. By using the flea drops between the shoulder blades of your pet they should be unable to rub the medicine off, or lick it, but cats in particular can be rather supple and may try their best to get rid of the flea drops.
As Frontline Combo is oil based, these flea drops are completely waterproof. Your pet's flea free status will not be affected by bathing, swimming or being caught in the rain.
Frontline Combo - Flea Killer
Within a few hours many fleas on your pet will have already died. 18 hours after using Frontline Combo on your dog or cat, all the fleas on your pet will have been destroyed. In addition any ticks or chewing lice on your pet will be targeted too, killing them within 2 days.
During the month or so after using Frontline Combo any new fleas or ticks which land on your pet will be destroyed. Frontline flea drops should be used no more than every 30 days. In reality, dogs generally remain flea free for 8 weeks and cats for 6 weeks (depending on the extent of the local flea population).
By using an insect growth inhibitor to safely destroy flea eggs and larvae, Frontline Combo quickly destroys the entire population in your home and garden.
Can I Frontline Combo Without a Prescription?
In the UK a prescription is needed to buy Frontline Combo, even if you buy from a UK based online pet med outlet. Your vet is legally entitled to charge for a prescription so the savings available online are often outweighed by the inconvenience and expense of obtaining the prescription.
